Paediatricians in community practice may encounter an infant or toddler who “just isn’t moving quite right” but who has no apparent perinatal risk factors for cerebral palsy (CP) and otherwise seems to be thriving. CP is the most common physical disability in childhood, occurring in approximately 1 in 400 children in Canada, yet diagnosis is often delayed even in cases where evidence of risk for CP in infancy is stro.
